WHO WE ARE?
Afghanistan Institute of Engineering and Technology (AIET), also known as Institute of Engineering and Technology, is a prestigious institution renowned for excellence in science, engineering, technology, professional education, and research. Located in Kabul, Afghanistan, AIET was founded in 2025 by Eng. Mohammad Siddiq is a distinguished engineer and leader. Eng. Siddiq envisioned an institution that would bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical experience, preparing students to address the engineering and industrial challenges of a rapidly changing world.
Since its founding, AIET has adopted a unique educational philosophy centered on hands-on learning, experimentation, and innovation, implementing national, U.S., and international curriculum standards. This approach, known as Learn. Do. Lead! became the institute’s official motto and remains a guiding principle today. AIET sought to become a leading institution for engineering and applied sciences, supporting fuel Afghanistan’s industrial growth. AIET is located in the heart of Kabul, with expanded facilities to support its rapidly growing academic and professional programs.
AIET consists of 4 departments: Department of Computer Science, Department of Engineering, Department of English, and Department of Professional and Global Education. The institute currently offers six-month certification, one-year diplomas, two-year diplomas, and associate degrees across a broad range of disciplines. AIET’s interdisciplinary approach fosters collaboration among scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and professionals to address complex global challenges. The institute manages numerous international tests, laboratories, and research centers, including the Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL). These centers conduct pioneering research and testing in languages, artificial intelligence, computer science, and engineering.
AIET maintains strong connections with industry and the broader community through internships, research collaborations, entrepreneurial initiatives, and workforce development programs. Its location in Kabul provides students with access to major industries, innovative startups, and global corporations. The university also promotes innovation and community engagement through numerous research centers, student organizations, and interdisciplinary projects.
